** IMPORTANT REMINDER TO BIND YOUR ACCOUNT **

JP players can bind via binding code or Twitter account; EN players can bind via Twitter account, Facebook account or Yostar account. These options are in Settings.
Use at least one account bind option; use multiple if you want to be safe. If your device is lost, damaged, or a game update breaks the app and forces you to reinstall you could permanently lose your account. EN accounts are easiest to recover with an account bind; make sure to bind your account in the settings and only use the login screen binding buttons to reconnect your account. Using the login screen buttons without a bound account will create a new account for you and effectively erase your progress with no way of recovering it outside of contacting customer support. JUST DO IT.
NOTE: It's also a good idea to remember your server and take a screenshot of your resume so that customer support has an easier time recovering your account.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I reroll? How do I do it?
No. There are a few reasons for this:
Is X ship good?
Take a look at this gallery that shows good, permanently available ships or this tier list for a general indication of any ship's power. For research ships there's also a list showing off how useful they are depending on their development level.
All ships are usable with proper development; just know that some ships/compositions are far less viable in later Worlds.
Should I be spamming Construction or saving cubes?
Saving cubes is crucial as you'll want a large stockpile of them to attempt limited constructions that appear during events. Outside of events, spend 1 cube per day (4 on Sunday) to satisfy the daily build mission; in doing so you'll complete the weekly mission which gives 6 cubes.
However, players starting out should spam construction for the first 2 or 3 days in order to expand their options for fleet setups.
Should I keep duplicate ships?
I'm struggling on X stage, what should I do?
How should I set up my fleet?
Main Fleet (Backline)
Aircraft Carriers (CV, CVL) - Clears the screen of enemy projectiles and weaker ships; Airspace Control Value (ACV) improves damage dealt by your carriers and reduces hostile encounters.
Battleships, Battlecruisers (BB, BC, BBV, BM) - Concentrated damage better suited for high-value targets; secondary gun protects backline from suicide ships.
Vanguard Fleet (Frontline)
Destroyers (DD) - Cheap; low gun damage with high-damage torpedoes; high evasion with poor armor and HP; speeds up your fleet and helps avoid ambushes.
Light Cruisers (CL) - Balanced stats with high anti-air capability.
Heavy Cruisers (CA, CB) - Expensive; high damage and/or large HP pool; some utility.
For the frontline position put your tankiest ship on the left and second tankiest on the right; for the backline try to have your strongest ship in the middle (flagship) position; battleships with a barrage skill should be in the center because it greatly improves their aim.
Make sure that your support (yellow) skills are useful to the rest of the fleet; most only affect certain class, nationality or weapon types and often don’t stack.
While at the beginning it doesn't matter - in fact you'd be better off using both of your fleets equally to level them up - your two fleets should eventually be split up into a mob-killer fleet and boss-killer fleet; the mob-killer fleet sacrifices firepower for sustain so use (self-)healing ships to survive the 4-7 fights needed to summon the boss for the boss-killer fleet.
When should I Limit Break?
This depends on your playstyle; Limit Breaking increases a ship's stats and capabilities at the price of increased Oil costs. Therefore:
These guidelines only apply to your main use fleets; farming fleets will have a different approach as explained in the next question.
NOTE: Regardless of your playstyle, Limit Break when your ships are approaching level cap (70/80/90) to avoid losing XP.
What are good fleets to use for farming?
Farming fleets are designed to clear stages with as little fuel use as possible. Therefore:
Popular vanguard ships: Phoenix, Leander, Cassin, Downes, Fletcher DDs Popular main fleet ships: Erebus, Terror, Nelson, Rodney, Tirpitz, Duke of York, Yorktown
For high-level farming add healers (Akashi, Vestal, Unicorn, Shouhou, Ryuuhou, Arizona) and a strong boss-killer fleet.
What should I be equipping?
You can try following these guides. Otherwise, use what you have.
How do I get more Oil?
Oil in Azur Lane is equivalent to stamina in most mobile games; your Canteen generates Oil and you can get more from mission/commission rewards. If you run dry consider running less ships in your fleets, running ships with lower rarity/fewer limit breaks and taking a break.
How do I get Coins?
Aside from generation via the Merchant, large coin drops come from Daily Raids and the 8-10 hour commission (costs 800+ fuel). A popular method is farming map 7-2 until all the "?" nodes appear, collecting the nodes and retreating.
What should I spend Gems on?
Priority list:
Spending Gems on anything not listed here isn't recommended (ESPECIALLY Oil/Gold). However, it's mostly personal preference.
What should I spend Medals of Honor on?
Buy the featured SSR if you want heneed a duplicate for limit breaking. Otherwise, solid purchases are gold and purple Bulins (if needed), T3 Skillbooks, T2 Retrofit Blueprints (T3 if needed), PR Blueprints and Dorm food; anything else isn't recommended though your needs may vary.
What are Retrofit Blueprints? How do I use them?
Retrofit Blueprints are used in retrofitting and consumed in the Retrofit tree found in ship details. Note that not all ships have a retrofit and not all retrofits are currently available on EN. It's recommended to save your blueprints and only retrofit ships you plan on using as higher tier blueprints can be hard to come by.
What is the best use of Core Data?
You'll want several Oxytorps and Black/White shells, the F4U Corsairs) are currently the best fighters in the game. Other useful items include Fairey Swordfish 818) which slow enemies on hit and the Homing Beacon for synchronizing airstrikes. The Seal of the Four Gods, improves Anshan class ships but otherwise is not worth buying.
All of the ships currently in the core shop are obtainable through war archives and/or aren't useful to a new player.
Why can't I rank up past Captain?
For Rear Admiral Lower Half and higher in addition to meeting the rank score requirement you must be high enough on the player leaderboards to rank up. For Rear Admiral Lower Half that means you need to be in the top 1000; all ranks and thresholds can be found here.
When is the daily/weekly reset?
[EN] Daily reset is at midnight PDT; weekly reset is Sunday at midnight PDT.
How to get Akashi?
Tap on her 30 times in the shop menu to get started. And you might want to hold on to 10 purple and 5 gold Sakura tech packs.
How do I unlock the last few memories in X event?
After clearing B3/D3/the last of the non-EX stage of the event, try beating it a few more times.
How do I earn Tech Points?
Tech Points are gained by obtaining, max limit breaking and max levelling (level 120) ships. You can see how many points each ship will give you in the Lab > Fleet Tech tab. As a rule of thumb big ships such as CVs or BBs will give you more tech points than little ships regardless of rarity. MLBing a ship gives you the largest amount of points out of the 3 step process; PR1 ships requirements are generally easier to meet than PR2/PR3 ships' fleet tech thresholds.
How do I earn experience for research ships?
PR EXP is only earned through oil-consuming PvE content with the ships specified under the EXP objectives in the Shipyard. PvP matches, Dorm EXP, Lecture EXP and commissions do not count. The EXP goals are rather large; be prepared for a long grind. Ships who are at an EXP/level cap (i.e. 70/80/90/100~120 depending on limit break, cognitive awakening or EXP hard cap) will still contribute EXP to PR EXP objectives, even if it displays +0 EXP in the combat results.
What types of researches are best?
Here is the list for the best researches for earning PR blueprints. There is also a list for those who are looking to grind gear blueprints specifically. Note that PR ships are an endgame goal; investing cubes and coins into research projects early on will greatly impede your progress with little benefit so free researches are a better option while starting out.
What is the drop rate of X?
The only known drop rate is for Akagi & Kaga; each have a 0.75% chance to drop after defeating the boss of 3-4. No other drop rates are currently known.
Is X getting a rerun?
Most major events get a single rerun per region. You can check the Azur Lane Wiki to see if an event has already reran on your server's region. Reruns generally occur at least a year after the event's first debut; after the rerun is concluded ships from that event will slowly come to permanent construction pools. The exception to this rule are collaboration events which - so far - haven't seen any reruns due to licensing deals.
How do I get retrofit items for Sandy/Warspite/X?
UR retrofit item are acquired through limited-time events. They will have reruns, if you missed them you will have a chance to obtain them in the future.
What is the next big event? Is there an event roadmap?
There is no known roadmap for any of the regions; big events are usually announced a week or two at most before the event itself is released.

2020.09.26 03:08 remindme_2_be_better Ring not connecting to Ethernet or going into setup mode

The past few days our front door ring (Video Doorbell Elite) has not been connected to our ethernet and our doorbell chime emits a single chime every once in a while. The device health shows poor voltage (0.0mV) and the status says Offline. I've tried reconnecting to the internet and the ring never goes into setup mode (the circle never spins).
I've tried unplugging the ethernet cable for several minutes and plugging it back in, restarting our router, shutting the breaker off, and whatever steps the app says (like taking the faceplate off and pressing the small button twice). Nothing the app says seems to work. The ring is connected to an already existing doorbell chime, and the doorbell itself will still chime, but there is no video feed. I've done about everything except take out the two wires that connect to the doorbell chime. I didn't want to do that because I wasn't sure if they were live.
I tried most of these methods a few times, then I gave up. When I plugged in and screwed everything back in, our doorbell chime started going crazy. It wasn't chiming, but it sounded like the pistons(?) were bouncing up and down constantly. I turned the power off and removed one of the wires on the chime, and it stopped going crazy.
We bought our home new and the builders installed the ring and it seems they did not install the Pro Power Kit. That will be my next option.
Any idea what could be causing this and what solution might help?

SERIOUSLY, WHO’S THE CHIEF BUMBLEFUCK IN CHARGE OF NETFLIX’S PARENTAL ADVISORY MESSAGES?!?
okay, how about a more appropriate title for this post?
YOU CAN EITHER BE A FIERCE AMAZON, OR A CAMO WRAPPED VAGINAL LIFE SUPPORT
Based on the crude sub-sub title for this episode, one can safely guess how strongly i feel about this issue.
Yes dear reader. And to you 15 redditors who sent me chat messages and the other 26 who sent me direct messages asking for my input about military life as a woman. Finally, you will get the answers you are looking for.
As usual, before i begin on my usual rant, let me start off with an intro.
INTRO
Be advised, i may or may not be a wee bit tipsy while writing this. I find i write best when i am left alone with my partner playing “straddle-what’s-basically-a-controlled-detonation-on-full-afterburners-on-a-night-flyby-exercise” and with a tumbler full of scotch within arm’s reach. Today’s post is brought to you by “small-batch-whisky-whom-i-shall-choose-to-not-name-because-im-actually-not-sponsored-by-them” and im staring at a stack of unnecessary paperwork that some brand spanking new good idea fairies (who will fofahkssakes will get lost in the woods the first chance they get) have dropped in my lap, putting me in just a teensy weensy homicidal mood.
THE SISTERHOOD OF “DIE, MOFO, DIE!”
You have finished your basic and occupational training. Depending on your nationality, you may undergo additional training, or you might be looking at orders chopping you off to your first unit. Yay! (Those first introductory training courses in the military doesnt count in my books since everyone is weird there anyway. Its where they weed out those unsuitable for this life and skim the cream of the crop.)
Dont break into your happy little dance yet. Its just beginning for you.
Here’s some generic advice from a wiser person than me.
Being a woman in the military is just, strange.
Lets get out of the way the obvious gimmes first.
SEX AND RELATIONSHIPS
Look. Im not gonna start with a sermon and go “dont shit where you eat” or “the military workplace is STILL a professional workplace, act professionally” sermonizing bullshit on you. Kind of high and mighty of me seeing as i married another military person. Youre an adult in a professional environment. Act accordingly. Just be respectful and be smart. If youre looking at co workers for potential life partners, have at it. Contrary to popular belief, military people are one of the most romantic people ever. Sure, were a little bit messed up in the head and come with some baggage, on account of all the killing and out performing the enemy when it comes to converting human bodies into pink mist, but who doesnt have baggage in their life?
If you even come remotely close to being decent looking in civvie life, you will be an instant army (or insert favorite branch) babe. You are surrounded by lonely, horny, and rowdy males. This is normal. In most cases, you will be exactly as lonely, horny, and rowdy as they are. Maybe even worse. Boys might think were all prim and proper and sugar and spice and everything nice, but the last time i looked down, im rocking the same beef curtains as you ladies. I know we are so much more grosser?/grossier? than dudes in most cases. Exhibit A: female side of any public bathroom.
Gone are the days when you have to put in the work and effort just to look good for a date. Seriously, all you have to do is change into civillian clothing on the weekend and you will find yourself inundated with invitations to a date before you even sign out of the main gate. If you’re above average looking and actually look good in combats, you will smell the pheromones from a mile away.
Let me make myself clear: THIS. DOES. NOT. MAKE. YOU. SPECIAL. There will come a time when your whole life will revolve around the military and you will have little time left to socialize in a civillian setting. This will mean that it may be possible your dating options will consist of purely fellow military members. Before you dip your toes in the work pool, remember that your situation might be very well the same for the people you are dating.
Be an adult. A responsible and accountable one. I highly believe that the antiquated rules prohibiting fraternization amongst the ranks is meant to mitigate any risks of abuse. This is 2020. That should no longer be the case. If a relationship ends badly, DO NOT use your hooha as a weapon to “win” the break up. I have seen so many cases of scumbag women in the ranks who are only one level evolved beyond being vaginal life support, abuse the new protections and equality measures enacted in the workplace. All you’re doing is unravelling all that work and preventing honest, hard working women from succesfully joining the ranks, and making it hard for legitimate victims to attain justice.
This strikes a really personal note with me because I was sexually assaulted by a senior student during leadership school. (I refuse to be called a rape “victim”.) I have been known to be the wild child all throughout my life. But nothing I have done made me deserve what that animal did to me. I had to fight hard to prove to the system that i am claiming that a legitimate offense took place, and i want justice, goddammit. Im not trying to game the system, im not trying to seek the spotlight, im not trying to “win” a breakup, i dont want anything at all except maybe look him in the eye and have him acknowledge that he deserves to serve time as restitution for his offense.
There are women out there who have had it worse than me. There are women out there who will never breathe the breath of the living again as a result of what happened to them. Do NOT even dare exploit a system trying to fix itself to prevent any more dead and violated women. You may have personally benefited from it now, but what about women you love? Friends? Sisters? Cousins? How would you be able to live with yourself if a system that has been tampered with by people like you is now unable to help them?
Tales of woe and sadness aside, i have also seen women bat their eyelashes at dumbass teenage barely out of highschool males in their class and ask if they can carry some of their loadout in their rucksack. And then complain in the next breath that life as a modern woman is still heavily biased. No honey, you dont get to do that. Take off the uniform and go sell pictures of your feet on gonewild if you wanna cash in on your vajayjay. You dont get to do that while wearing the same uniform that i do. One that i actually earned the right to wear.
Now, on to the more practical parts:
HYGIENE AND FEMALE CARE
  1. Underwear: some militaries provide an allowance to female members so they can buy their own bras. Before you go to Victoria’s Secret or La Perla, ask yourself: how busty am i? If you are at the point where you need underwire in your brassiere, believe me, those wires will come popping out as soon as you shrug on your plates and squeeze your tatas. Do yourself a favour and use that bra allowance to have your own sports bras custom made.
If you’re a fan of small underwear like I am, do yourself a favour and leave the thongs at home when in field exes/deployments, and wear the issued boxers. Even though i scoff at the idea of the issued flame retardant boxers being your last line of defense against being burnt to a crisp, my reasons are a lot more practical. Where i live, lingerie dont grow on trees. That shit’s expensive. If it gets ripped up or damaged or rendered unwearable due to adverse living conditions, or stupid delicates murdering laundry machines at the wash, the military will not reimburse you for it.
  1. Feminine Hygiene: due to our anatomy, we are a lot more prone to UTIs and yeast infections when living in adverse conditions. Even when in FOBs that do their best to make themselves your home away from home, the conditions usually are still pretty ripe and favourable for infections to develop in unsanitary conditions. Set yourself up for success by making sure to pack enough washes and baby wipes. My job involves paying strict attention to small details. In fact, we are a lot more vigilant about it than your standard grunt. Its because our lives depend on it. How can i trust a soldier in my unit to be observant enough and not get themselves and me blown up, if i cant even trust them not to be taken out of commission by a UTI in the desert because they let their stank get so stanky to the point that they need an IV drip of antibiotics?
  2. Feminine Health: if you think your periods are a killer when youre in the comfort of your own home, think again. Imagine having cramps in the middle of the desert heat, stuffed in a bullet magnet tin box on wheels, surrounded by heavily armed stinky dudes, in a hostile country populated with innocent people who just want to live their lives in peace, and people who look like those innocent people, but instead of being peaceful, look forward to blowing themselves up just to kill you. Do yourself a favour: get an IUD or a hormone shot like Depoprovera. It will stop your periods dead in its tracks, and the brief period of discomfort after having those measures installed in your body is worth it.
  3. On deployment, bring (sexual) protection and some other stuff. Jesus, im so bad for saying this, but here’s what ive witnessed usually happen at FOBs. Fresh batch of troops get popped into the oven. They are given a bunch of briefings about conduct in country. Amongst those rules of conduct laid down is discouraging fraternization. There are people who go out and break this rule as soon as they can.
As ive mentioned before, i highly believe that anti fraternization rules are antiquated and will have to be reviewed some time soon. This is 2020, where even lower ranking enlisted can boast some more education and life experiences. A good majority of them know how to be an adult and not let their personal life do a mission creep on their work life. But since its the military, they have to take things slow and steady because all rules enacted should be carefully analyzed (a.k.a.: have a bunch of generals and senior staff get the chance to attach their names on it). Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs actually place intimacy as a requirement above physical needs. That Hierarchy does not cease to exist just because you wear combats. A good leader plans for that and helps their soldiers succeed.
Anyway, back to my point. You’ll be horny. You’ll be rowdy. And you’ll be lonely. This is where the protection and other stuff_ part comes in. Condoms + your IUD or any chosen form of birth control i mentioned above should be sufficient enough to protect you from the double hazards of disease and unwanted pregnancy. Please note that i highly recommend other ways of satisfying sexual needs prior to engaging in actual intercourse with another person. This is usually because getting it on also has a chance of one member of the party developing something that has no place developing in the middle of a goddamn mission.
Im not talking about fucking barnyard animals. Im talking about masturbation. This is where the other stuff comes in. The other stuff are, well, no other ways to put it, sex toys. Bear with me for a second here and let me explain. A horny, sex deprived soldier is a single minded soldier. A soldier who’s mind is less than 100% on the mission and preoccupied with getting their freak on is a distracted soldier. I have seen the rules relaxed on the field when it comes to bored, scared, and horny soldiers. A good leader can take care of boredom and fear. Lack of physical intimacy is something only the soldier can take care of. This is an easy gimme problem for men to take care of. Wake up, wank off, piss, smoke, drink coffee, and its All Good Morning Vietnam after that.
For females, its a little bit more complicated and harder to explain.
If you need to get laid, you need to get laid. Having sex with yourself should always be COA A, B, and C, before you start shooting long looks at those icky, cootie ridden boys. Just kidding. If men are allowed to take care of their own sexual needs solo, then why shouldnt you as well?
Why the sex toys then? Im talking strictly about vibrators. Put away the whips and chains. You dont need to bring your entire sex dungeon on deployment. Its because women’s bodies are unique in a million different ways. Some women find it pleasant to have some parts of the body stimulated. Some dont. Bringing a vibrator allows you to bypass all these “middleman” erogenous zones and get straight to business. A vibrator also helps women who cannot get satisfaction from pure manual stimulation of their “magic bean”. There are different kinds of tools out there to suit your needs.
Im Jewish by birth and has also commanded some Mormon troops. Jews and Mormons i found are the hardest troops to counsel when it comes to maintaining their sexual health. Jews because of the very nature of their guilt based culture, and Mormons because of their massively restricting rules about sexuality. I had a married Mormon soldier under my command whom ive noticed has been developing a pretty friendly relationship with one of the clerks. I knew it was a matter of time before these two heads into some dark and private area and start carrying on. I took the soldier aside and advised him to talk to his bishop and figure out a way to sate his sexual needs within the bounds of his faith, without creating drama in the workplace or ruining his marriage.
Btw, if youre learning about any of this just now, please go ahead and give your parents a bonk on the forehead for me. Thank youuuuuuu.
PHYSICAL FITNESS
Just because you and your booty has 40k Instagram followers doesnt mean you are physically fit to join the military. Imagine all the “exercises” you do in the gym. Now imagine doing all that while wearing at least 150 lbs of kit. And then imagine doing that in a situation where your physical fitness may or may not be the one that saves your life.
I dont care if you have no ambitions towards joining the combat arms jobs. I knew of a guy who on gate duty while on deployment in the Balkans. Him and a buddy were lit up by effective fire to cover a young man trying to rush their gate while wearing a SVIED. This guy tackled him from behind and froze him in place so he couldnt clack himself off while trusting his buddy is providing covering fire. Him and his buddy are both cooks.
Physical fitness is an important part of your job requirements in the military regardless of what trade you apply for. Physical fitness is also a personal responsibility. Do not sign the dotted line expecting the military to whip you up into shape. All you will accomplish is break yourself trying.
Going back to the different physicality of the female anatomy, make sure your workouts are geared to fit into that military oriented demand. Gym fit is entirely different from military fit. I have always had lower back problems since hitting puberty because of my boobs. The problems started escalating even before i joined the military. I had never been fat my entire life but i soon realized i was never physically fit either. I depended on my high metabolism, raging hormones, and natural flexibility as a teenager to carry me through cheerleading and all the sports that i used to do. As an adult, i soon realized i cant depend on those things anymore. I had to focus on integrating a lot of core and back exercises on top of my workouts.
A physique based workout is not a strengthening workout. But that doesnt mean you have to give up on your goals of popping a six pack, popping some lats, and sporting a wicked v cut. You just have to be smart with your workouts. Focus on functional workouts that would enable you to go on long patrols while carrying heavy gear. Do that, do well with that, and the physique will come.
Last but not least, if you smoke, quit. Im not gonna sermon you on this. Theres plenty of information out there letting you know about the health risks associated with smoking. Later on in your career, sure, there might be some room for a vice. But smoking during military training when you desperately need your cardio will not do you any favours. I smoke here and there with my boys only when on deployment. A couple of exceptions for real life reasons when in garrison, say the birth of a baby, or some success that needs celebrating. But i only smoke cigars. Cubanos mostly, because if im gonna smoke a cancer stick, it will be an expensive cancer stick. Lmao. I also learned how to chew tobacco while working with Americans. Chewing tobacco is quite an interesting experience. I dont like doing it, but its quite an effective ice breaker when working with American counter parts, especially their Marines, when i approach them and ask: “want a dip?” and hand them a can of Skoal.
POST SCRIPT
I originally wanted to post this as a series. Once the series is completed, i will create an index post and post that into militarystories and this sub. I have only posted one so far before this post.
However, my situation has changed. I am now in a position where i am doing the job of two people while our tempo is dramatically sped up. I will still take time to answer questions and requests for advice, but sadly, the endstate i was envisioning will not be possible until at least for a long while. This post has been marinating in my drafts folder for quite some time before i finally had to be honest with myself and admit that i am going about this the wrong way.
I do not want to disappoint everyone who sent me PMs and chat messages asking me for advice. I think doing it this way is a happy medium. I will still entertain private conversations and questions. Just please be patient if it takes me a while to respond.
Finally, to u/fishtheunicorn, i apologize for putting you on the spot like this. But, i usually creep the profiles of people who DM, chat, and follow me. I noticed that out of all of them, you are the only one who is still at such a young age in their life. So here’s a piece of advice that i send out to you and to similar fresh eager young faces like you only.
You have finally graduated high school. For some of you, its “now what do i do?”. For others, its your country’s version of your elite military academy where you graduate with a Baccalaureate and a commission. For a select few, the military is a last resort in hopes of not getting lost in life.
I joined the military as an already full grown adult. I left behind a professional career and discarded years’ worth of education that helped establish that. I do not regret any of it. All of those life experiences has made me a better person, a better leader, and a more than average soldier. My job requires me to be bold and decisive. While leaders like me are allowed leeway to make mistakes, mistakes made at our level usually produces a dead or badly injured friendly soldier at the other end of the decision making process. Our job as leaders is to use our soldiers to achieve our mission endstate. Its NOT our job to use them up.
If the military is the endstate you have been working on your entire life, holding off on signing that dotted line while gaining some more life experiences wouldnt hurt at the very least. Travel. Live with foreigners. Learn a new language and a new culture. Learn how to work and lead in a professional environment. Learn some professional and life skills. After that, when you feel that you’re ready, watch yourself be a rockstar once you finally join this unique brothesisterhood and bring all this wealth of knowledge and experience to the table.
If the military is nothing but a “eh, well, better than working at McDonalds” option for you after high school, know this: there is a place for you in the military too. There are plenty of opportunities for you to succeed as long as you apply yourself. But you only achieve this if you are honest with yourself first and foremost and humble enough to know that you need a lot of learning to do. Shed all preconceived notions and overestimated trust in your capabilities, and do not be afraid to put in some hard work.
Work hard. Share in everyone’s hardship. It is not wrapping yourself up in a flag and humming patriotic songs that would endear you to your colleagues. Its sharing the same suffering they are enduring. Part of the reason why medically profiled people get ostracized in the military is that because they are now out of the shared hardships equation.
Be bold. Pick left, pick right, but stick to your guns when you know you’re right. Boldness and bravery also means yielding when you know you dont have enough experience or knowledge to support your decision.
Be humble. Theres nothing more infuriating than coming fresh out of the training schools and thinking you already know everything. For most militaries, training schools only give you the template of what you need to know. You will have more specifics to learn once you get to your unit.
Be generous. Ive been in 2 way ranges more often than i would care to. One thing i took away from those experiences is that life is short. Whether be it from someone wanting to kill you dead, or an idiot who shouldnt have been issued a driver’s license, life can get cut short for anyone at any point in time. Be generous with your affections. Say what you mean and mean what you say. Dont wait for the right moment to tell a loved one that you love them. You should be saying that everyday anyway, and making your actions be reflective of that.
Be selfless. Its a sad state of affairs that I dont get to work with the Canadians as much as i would like to, but i have observed an interesting practice they do in field exercises. Sometimes, they get a treat and have cooks prepare a fresh cooked field meal for them. They bring food out in heated containers and have the troops line up right there in the field for meal time. Senior NCOs and ALL officers stay in the back of the line and let all their lower ranking members eat first. Even though portions are heavily rationed out to ensure everyone gets something to eat, its always slim pickings for everyone else left after the Privates and Corporals have gotten their food. This experience stuck with me and has been a core principle in my leadership style.
Selflessness in soldiering is not limited to jumping on top of grenades. I always make sure my troops are well fed, well supplied, and well rested. I do not spoil them, but i make sure theyre not short changed either. I have marched straight up to the face of the Major in charge of our logistics when i was a junior officer and demanded why my troops are forced to ratfuck and stretch one MRE for 3 days per man, when it was him and his shop that fucked up in outfitting us with what we need for a simple field exercise. I refuse to make my men pay for other people’s inability to do their job. I make sure that i pull at least one sentry shift per rotation. I go above and beyond in coaching and imparting life skills to those who went from the care of their parents and the educational system, straight to the care of the military. Those who have had no opportunities to gain those skills on their own.
I do this not for personal gain or recognition. I do it because i know im not special. I know that some of these rockstars i have the privilege to lead will be leading some other rockstars themselves in the future. My ability to wear a uniform and serve my country is a road paved for me by people before me who brought in positive changes to our organization. Positive change in the military lies in the hands of people like this, and doing job well as their leader in training them, and whatever i do as i lead them, is a crucial ingredient in making sure that those positive changes happen.
To close this, i am more than willing to coach you specifically on how to prep for success in the military if youre willing to bear with me and my personal time constraints. While i may not be familiar with the intricacies of applying in your particular nation’s military, there are a lot more i can help you out with.
😘😘😘
Edit: ladies! Ho-ly. Lol. Okay. Got the gist of all the comments and the PMs. Okay. Im linking a few shops you guys might want to check out. All of these are shops i have personally done business with in the past, and they all do either custom work, or custom editing for your sports bras. They are in different countries and some of them only accept in person/in store business. But the beauty of these times being so unpredictable due to COVID, you might just be able to convince them to do remote work with you as long as you clearly articulate what you want. The prices are a bit steeper than your usual already expensive lingerie, but i swear, its worth it.
I too have plugged in “custom made sports bras” in Google and came up with frustrating hits. What initially got me started with it is that i was able to sweet talk a seamstress into “experimenting” with my bras. I have a pair that was as close to perfect as i have ever had, and all she had to do was strip it down and resize it in her shop based on my measurements. It might be a harder process for some, and it might be an easier process to others. It depends on every single woman’s body type.
Technically, theres no such thing right now as a “true” custom made/bespoke sports bra. Its all just basically mass produced stretchy sweat wicking fabric that you jam your ta-tas into and hope for the best. I dont like “true” sports bras. I dont like how i have to peel them off like a shirt. (Yeah, yeah, i get it, there’s ones that have clasps, but thats a recent development). I prefer swimwear bras or cheer practice bras. Those ones have a lot more optionality and customization options without taking away too much from the support aspect of things.
If you cant find any shop nearby that offers those services, its quite easy to go talk to a seamstress/tailor who would be willing to modify a bra for your specific body measurements. Soma is a good brand for its selections, and Lululemon for its next generation fabrics. Find out the best fabric from Lululemon, scope some styles from Soma, ask if theres any athletics or cheerleading outfitters near you than can assemble a bra close to your size, and then have the seamstress/tailor do the final fitting. Lots of work, but ive done it before, and its not that hard.
Putting this info in a military context, you dont need a “true” sports bra specifically. Take this advice and adapt it into your personal context. Maybe youre like me who still can benefit from a hybrid bra like a swim/cheer bra for support to approximate the support you get from underwire. Maybe you need to double up on the sports bra so you get to control the “squish” factor you get from the plates. (I actually had to do this before). Or maybe, sadly, its time to really look at a reductive surgery as an option.

Edit 2:
Gawdfakendammit. Anyone know how to get rid of the annoying cover photos that links pull into the post? I dont want this post’s cover photo to be a picture of a boob holster. Lol.

2020.09.24 16:31 SwoleBenji Is this the current "Best in slot" or "Strongest possible build" currently available?

I want to make sure I buy the current best in slot parts, and not be a chump who spends $4k and then suddenly finds himself outclassed with a new CPU that hits the market a month later.
The 3090 came out today and I figured it's time to pull the trigger.
Any way to improve this?
I want to open 50 firefox tabs.
While editing videos in Sony Vegas
While rendering out recorded video on Xmedia Recode
While streaming to youtube
While recording video on a HDD.
While recording 5 minutes of replay footage I can "save" at any time if something crazy in game happens.
While rendering a video in Vegas.
While multiboxing a few games.
While having discord and other "apps" running.
I thought about SLI, but back in the day when I SLI'd gtx 480's every current game on the market ran worse, it had lots of problems with the gpu's failing and ultimately when I just ran a single 480 games like Starcraft 2 and other mainstream games at the time just straight up ran better.

2020.09.24 16:00 granthinton I'm fleeing the moon base Selene because something is killing people - Just now

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
Finale
It took all the nerves I had to reach for the welding cannon. The clone swayed in the hatch way. Wires and cables sparking intermittency. I had no contact with Alec or the others since I lost my suit, and the intercom in this section didn’t seem to be working. I called out anyway.
“Alex? Can you hear me?”
The buzz of electric and the hiss of the clone answered back. I’m a simple man, logic and calculus, that’s my bag. Not killing or being a hero. I fought with the inner turmoil. The clone wasn’t a real person. It was a fake, a replica. It didn’t matter if I killed it. Plus it was trying to kill me. But some inside still told me it was wrong. That life no matter the form was still life.
The cannon grew heavy in my hands. I calculated that the escape bays were little over 800 meters away. At a run that would take me around 3 minutes and 36 seconds. Math I could trust. What I couldn’t trust was my heart or my arms. Either could have given out on me at any second.
A sound of contracting metal vibrated through the base. It was the jolt of fear I needed. I raced forward with the cannon blasting a ribbon of fire. The impact sent the clone flying through the hatch way, a deep scarlet hole appeared on its chest as the cannon died. I didn’t stop to check if I killed it.
I threw the cannon to one side and bounded down the passageways. The steel grates clacked under my feet adding an urgency to the already groaning base. The escape pods were at the centre of Selene. A semi circle of life support meant for the elites to use if ever there was a reason. I never knew of them, no one in our party did, except for Alec. If it wasn’t for her beautiful algorithms I dread to think what would have happened.
I was breathing heavily a few meters out. 800 meters seemed like a marathon. Endless smooth walls and bulkheads sailed passed. I finally rounded a corner and stopped by the large entrance to Genesis.
I’d forgotten how spectacular it was. The reason for Selene, the goal of life and survival of the human race was etched into the ring of silver above the entry, a single word at the centre of it all: Bereshit.
My heart swelled a bit at the sight. I remembered my school visit and how I was equally as awed as my class mates. The impact of the visit apparently never left me.
The groan of the base pulled me out of my revival again. Suddenly aware of the danger I was in, I sped forward. The bulkhead door was open, a fact that I hadn’t expected and wasn’t surprised by. Alec would have seen to that. As soon as I was through the hatchway closed with a resounding bang.
I crossed the Eden pool, a circle fountain-like structure made from the twisted trunks and branches of an earth tree called a birch. The branches formed a circle around the water which slowly spun in an anticlockwise direction. Above me the stars twinkled through the glass doomed bulkhead.
On the other side of the pool Josh sat in the enclosure of an escape pod. Halbert standing off to one side wrung his hands.
“Damn, Ocean. What took you so long?” Josh barked.
Oh how I missed his tone.
“Where’s Sepruse?” Halbert bent forward to look behind me.
“She’s dead,” I said, bending over and resting on my knees. “We had a little clone problem.”
Halbert kicked the floor. Josh made to pull down the hatch to his pod. “Well, more power for us then. Alec, let’s get this show on the road.” The hatch hissed closed. His face settled into a smug grin as he flicked some switches.
But Alec didn’t respond. Halbert wrinkled his face.
“Alec?”
The speakers of the room crackled, Alec’s voice came through in broken bursts.
I’m -ere, Hal-ert.
“Alec, how much power do we have left?”
38% e-ough -or —- pods
The groans of the base grew louder. We didn’t have to be told that they could break through at any moment.
“Oh well,” said Halbert, looking at me with a wry smile, “to infinity and beyond.” I nodded.
He rushed to a pod and closed the hatch. Josh glanced out at me. His once frightened face now a mockery of humour. Sure he could be brave now sitting in the salvation of the pod. Oh how I hated him.
I ran toward the welcoming embrace of the pod next to Halbert. The ground shook sending me careering off track. I slammed hard against the outcrop of a power line and felt a warm trickle of blood roll down my face. The ground buckled again, sending me to the floor. A terrible scream of metal tore through the chamber. I held my hands over my ears from the pain.
When I glanced up, Josh's pod was gone. Not gone gone, but rather the back of the pod opened wide to space and the slowly forming face of Sepruse. She, it grinned. Her hair was long, and swam out behind her, as did Josh’s limp body. I shuffled back as she darted through the rent, hell bent on attacking me. Slowly the hair retracted to match the former Sepruse whose body was probably still cooling in the passageway.
Thankfully the glass hatch held. In my moment of panic I turned to Halbert hoping that he hadn’t succumbed to the same fate. My optimism fell as another clone pressed its face against the hatch glass. Stream from its breath fogging against the chill of space.
I was doomed. I knew I couldn’t use the escape pod. The moment I set foot inside the back of the pod would be ripped out. For a second I wished I had the welding cannon, but that would be just as effective as a chocolate covered teapot.
Think man, think. I scolded myself.
All my years learning about Selene and I didn’t know shit. I knew how to fix her but I couldn’t outwit a bunch of killer clones.
Hold on.
“Alec, reroute power to pod 4 and 9,”
Power r-rou-ed.
“Fire then on my count.”
It was a pot shot but it could work. I glanced at pod 1, it was the furthest away from the clones and the curve of the pod wall didn’t allow them to see which pod I was in. Any hope I had was fixed on this plan.
I stood from my knelt position. Ten steps and freedom. I had always wanted to visit earth, something that was strictly forbidden on Selene. I chuckled thinking of the upheaval it would have caused the council having seen this charade.
Ten steps and boom.
The wall shook and those ten steps fell away. The base was being decimated. I looked up at the doomed ceiling and the void of space. More clones than I could count crawled over the apex.
“Fuck!”
I ran to the pod calling out for Alec.
“Fire!”
I raced for my pod. The hiss of gas and the concussion of the explosions assaulted the chamber. The hatch slammed and clicked in place. I toggled some switches labelled to be flipped and waited.
Nothing happened.
“Alec?”
Yes ocean?
“Thank the creator. Please tell me you have enough power?”
Power is at 12% Where is Halbert?
I swallowed my growing elation. I didn’t know if Alec’s emotion chip was still active. Would an AI feel the same loss as a human? Or would they feel it less? It dawned on me that she could possibly feel it more. Halbert was her creator. Her father. I’ve read enough books to know that was a very potent thing.
I swallowed ready to deliver the bad news.
“I’m sorry Alec. He didn’t survive. Maybe we can talk about his after you expel me from this hell hole?”
I waited in the silence. The air tight enclosure stopped any noise from breaking through to me, but the window hatch didn’t afford the same luxury as sound. Clones piled through genesis wrenching apart the fountain as they came.
“Alec, I really need you to fire me.”
The silence stretched again. My knees started to quake in the confines of the capsule. The clones tore Genesis to pieces before my eyes. Every second drawing closer to my pod. It was only time until they saw me and destroyed the only chance I had at survival.
“ALEC! FIRE! NOW!”
I heard the hiss of gas and sucked in an anticipatory breath. The combustible ignited and sent my pod sailing into space.
I can bet no one reading this knows the relief I felt at that moment. The stars winked in the stream of the yellow thrust from the engines. Then it went out and the dizziness of space crept in. I allowed myself to breath. It was over. I had survived.
The distance from the Moon to Earth is 240,000 miles. That equates to around three days of travel. I have no food, no water, and no hope.
Because, in my stupidity, and my escape, I set. Pods 4 and 9 into space.
I’m writing this now and sending it down to an unknown server. If you’re reading this send it to the Able foundation. They need to know what’s coming. I’m sorry. Selene has failed and two clones are on route to Earth. The creator forgive me.

2020.09.19 12:28 OccultatumCapital Pokemon in the UK Reimagined... A Rough Draft

Like most, Pokemon Sword and Shield were a mixed bag for me. I was very happy to see another pokemon game, and to see that the games were evolving and become more sophisticated - not enough though. As a result, I began jotting down some ideas about how I'd make a UK-based pokemon game. These are by no means final, polished, or that sort of thing, but I wanted to post it and see what other people thought and ask if anyone else had any other ideas to contribute or if they'd change anything themselves. I'm not a game developper - indie or otherwise, and the only experience I have with game-design is loving games most of my life. Naturally, as a result, this is all really just a thought experiment and a fun little idea, and nothing will ever come out of it. If by some bizarre twist of fate anyone does want to make anything out of this nonsense or wants to incorporate these ideas into anything of any kind, if it's legal, please be my guest.
Anyhow, enough nonsense. Here are my notes:
Start in Small Town, Northern Ireland
(just immigrated, meet rival 1 - local, Blue-esque character, laugh at for no Pokemon and give 1 poke ball with taunt you’ll never catch one, says he’ll be champ)
Interest in Pokemon competition after playing in glade with starters (choose which to bond more with while playing) - after barely warding off big Pokemon, touches poke ball in hand with head to be captured. Set off to become best.
This introduces new mechanic - if Pokemon fighting with is friendly enough towards you, (play with, don’t K.O., heal with natural remedies, more bonded Pokemon) then option to ‘bond’ with wild Pokemon appears, making the catch rate 100% after calming, (3-9 turns of potential attacks depending on agitation/aggression and level). Pokemon bonded with have +25% exp gain rate & +10% stats.
Returning home to your mother and explaining your new pokemon, she talks about the competition in England and how another local from your small town set off long ago for fame and fortune. Inspired, you decide to do the same.
Travel by train / car to giant’s causeway with your mother who gives you some money and waves you off at the ferry to Dumfries (Dùn Phris), Scotland, because ferries to England all closed. There encounter rival 1 who challenges you. Beats you because he has three Pokemon, one type advantage.
Buy poke balls & supplies, () then fight along & socialise until come to Loch Ness & meet stranger talking about mystery until out of fog emerges giant ancient Aurorus. Fight, defeat, can’t catch, it leaves. Man surprised and remarks that he was surprised it was a Pokemon all along. Up past the loch is a lake-based ‘Wild Area’ with ruins, currently inaccessible.
Fight along until Edinburgh. Big City.
Clothes & Hair Customisation. Scottish Styles. Scottish food (replenishes Pokemon health, gives temp stat bonuses, improves certain type advantages). Register for NHS Pokemon health centres. Meet rival 2 - friendly, suggest you travel together down to England to visit relatives.
Up to Edinburgh Castle with new friend, rival 2, encounter the ghost when separated from tour. Litwicks filling the halls, alongside Honedges and such. Phantumps together turn out to be source of drumming.
Find friend and head down past Hadrian’s Wall and through Sherwood Forest. The latter is sprawling (another type of ‘Wild Area’). Iron Bridge closed for maintenance so have to go under. Encounter Large Grimmsnarl under bridge, but saved by the stranger who again comments on trolls under bridges being Pokemon in the end. Also somehow add in that some pokemon just can’t be caught, (pokemon that inspire local legends and such - somehow empowered by belief?)
Arrive with friend (rival 2) at Cotswolds, England. Meet family who encourage to compete in Gym challenge with Pokemon above lvl 20. Family talks about the history of the gym challenge and how different cultures and peoples come together to take part. Any trainer with all eight badges can compete in London to become the current Champion of the UK.. (potentially end-game challengers appear to claim the title, including both rivals?)
Each gym is 5-10 levels harder than last, but leaders will always have at least 2 Pokemon at a level above your strongest Pokemon. Each gym leader has 6 Pokemon. There are between 4 and 8 other competitors to face in each challenge preceding the arena. Healing areas on gym exits. Each gym arena individual but with space for audience. Losing against gym leader costs you 1/3 of all your money and resets the gym’s traps / trainers. Winning, however, yields 1/3 of your money each time. It very literally pays to be prepared. Talking to locals of the Gym towns will give you an idea of the pokemon used by each gym leader, and occasionally, one or two locals might actually have some tips for helping defeat them.
Gym Challenges:
Robin (Flying) - bird watching challenge. first to encounter 10 flying type Pokemon in trees around the arena. fighting other competitors drops score by 1. Final battle involves a lot of increasing speed & decreasing player accuracy. gigantamax Corviknight. Beating Robin gets you a snap camera.
Pritchard (Bugs) - compete against other challengers to befriend and catch as many bug type Pokemon as possible within a time limit and with limited poke balls. Final battle in the long grass with occasional bug Pokemon turning up to help either side, depending on who’s Pokemon likes them more. gigantamax Butterfree. Beating Pritchard gets you a better tent.
Doe (Normal) - challenge is one single much higher level Snorlax blocking the only path to the arena, then just her v you with massively strong Pokemon/moves. Final battle has no audience, just three judges giving scores. gigantamax Snorlax.
William (Ghost) - haunted house with 5 potential ‘spooky’ trainers. avoidable, but if you fight them, the last of your Pokemon disappears. could end up fighting with 1 Pokemon. Final battle win sees him toss you the badge and as you look back, both him and the audience have disappeared. gigantamax Grimmsnarl. Beating William gets you an award to put on your shelf back home, (drama mask thing).
Yogi (Fighting) - lose all Pokemon and find them in the dark by sound/vibration; avoid other competitors doing the same. Final battle involves all martial arts, 1 boxing Pokemon, 1 wrestling Pokemon, and 2 karate Pokemon. Gallade and Medicham secret final for psychic boost - train your mind and body. gigantamax Medicham. Beating Yogi teaches you how to meditate with your Pokemon at camps to improve catch rates by 20% for an hour.
Purdy (Steel) - factory challenge with conveyor belts. forge a key for the door out of gallium. as you pass through, water pours over the door and washes the gallium away. Final battle decked out to look like a mine with the occasional environmental earthquake, potentially hurting both sides, (20% chance she’s immune anyway). gigantamax Steelix. At the end of battle, Robin flies in & the pair fly off together.
Titus (Ice) - constantly snowing mountain to hike. outside, non-ice/water Pokemon receive debuffs every 20 seconds. open caves with campfires dotted around with the occasional challenger. campfires will heal frozen status some Pokemon receive. challengers sometimes up for fight. gigantamax Abomasnow.
Arthur (Dragon) - castle with ‘knight’ trainers to fight, with a portcullis/drawbridge/door opening after each defeat, (or correct answer to medieval question). Escavalier roam the halls and must be avoided. Final battle means no item use for an ‘honourable’ battle. gigantamax Charizard. Beating Arthur gets you a knighthood, which then allows you to return to Avalon as often as you like to battle other ‘nobility’ (parodies of famous knighted British celebrities).
Arthur, final gym, located on mysterious island of Avalon, at Windsor Castle, shrouded in mist (produced by Koffings). Arthur will impart wisdom about the importance of the ancient synergy between humans and Pokemon, (a la anti-villain) right before the main antagonist divulges his full plan and that he’s captured the Spirit of the Wilds, (from overhead blimp).
The Champion Title:
You apply and get a list of other trainers who have applied. You need to beat at least 10 of them to qualify to take on the challenge.
Losing to any of these trainers, (who will randomly find you after a day in-game if you haven’t found them) will cause your score to reduce by 1. Once you have defeated 10 trainers around the UK, you are then called in for your challenge.
You must face the Elite Four one after another, with time to use restoratives in between. Each one will have one mega-evolved pokemon - when they have multiple options, which one mega-evolves is randomised.
Irving (Grass): Ludicolo, Ferrothorn, Cradily, Abomasnow, Maractus, Venusaur. Very intense scottish guy who hates that people call grass pokemon weak.
Coral (Water): Crawdaunt, Wailord, Gyarados, Crawitzer, Starmie, Swampert. Older woman who talks about the importance of marine life, and the role of the sea in Britain’s history.
Azar (Fire): Arcanine, Ninetails, Talonflame, Camerupt, Delphox, Houndoom. Middle eastern man who is very kind and friendly and heals the player’s pokemon for them before their next challenge.
Beckett (Bug): Butterfree, Scizor, Drapion, Heracross, Beedrill, Vespiqueen. Older brother of Pritchard, and advocate of the power of bug type pokemon.
The Champion: the Champion turns out to be that same person from your home town who many years ago set out to compete in this exact same challenge. After a little talk on the importance of following your dreams and trusting in yourself and your pokemon, the battle starts. They will always be the opposite gender to the player.
Garchomp, Metagross, Aggron, Armaldo, Braviary, Tyranitar. The Champion is able to mega-evolve two pokemon, through the use of an item that he will give you one of should you defeat them. It will only function if every pokemon on your team has a high friendship level with the player.
When you have defeated the Champion, as they are about to name you their successor, rival 1 will burst into the room, having beaten the Elite Four and demanding to face the Champion. Explaining that you now hold the title, your rival will then step up to you and challenge you. Given that the Champion cannot technically refuse a fight in this capacity with the Elite Four having been beaten, the previous Champion to heal both of your teams so as to make it a fair fight and the two of you will then battle.
Winning will cause rival 1 to be speechless and outraged. They will then run out. You are asked to wait a moment and then to please follow the previous Champion onto the balcony beyond, where you will be named the new Champion of the UK to a wild roar of applause from the crowd below and TV screens - every match inside the League is filmed and followed on TV.
At some later point, if you encounter the Champion again back in your home town, they will ask you for another match - this time friendly. Should you defeat them again, they will thank you and - if you have at least three pokemon with high friendship on your team - give you a Gibble as a reward, (10% stat boost).
NOTES
Rival battles must be significantly harder.

Overarching Story: industrialist tries to harness the power of mysterious powerful Pokemon to produce (power? energy? war weapon?)
Background TV news pieces on billionaire tech genius (villain / stranger).. maybe have the best items (while also being good value / cheap) made by that company. Then in final confrontation, all those tech products unusable?
How allow criminals to circumvent Pokemon rules..
- criminals will throw poke balls at your Pokemon, which you have to block with button.
- criminals have a 20% chance per match to do 1-2 extra attacks/moves while you’re choosing your move.
- main antagonist actually has 9 Pokemon.
Final fight will involve your two rivals fighting the underbosses while you fight the main antagonist.
When you’ve taken his last pokemon down to half its health, the fight will be interrupted when stampedes of pokemon flock in to release the Spirit of the Wilds from the power harness it is hooked into providing power.
In the lead up to the confrontation, you will join your friends and the Professor at the original domain of the Spirit of the Wilds, where everything is already beginning to decay and die. the Professor will explain that the Spirit of the Wilds maintained balance in the UK, and that with it gone, chaos would be the result. You will have to fight some manic pokemon when you leave.
As you go to face the Industrialist, you will notice (and npcs will remark upon) how much of nature is decaying around the UK: plants will be dying, the tides will be rising, some pokemon will be acting sluggish, while others will be going manic. Any pokemon out of their poke balls will be acting somewhat erratically. In battle, this means that both sides have a 10% chance of doing one of the following: getting distracted, hurting themselves, or hurting the opponent.
When the Spirit of the Wilds is broken out from the contraption by the other pokemon, it bursts out and hovers menacingly above, and approaches the Industrialist. He shuffles back in fear, but it simply reaches out a hand and touches his cheek. It disappears away, and the Industrialist, shocked, gets up and admits to his wrongdoings. In his overzealousness for man’s success and unlimited free energy, he neglected to realise that man and pokemon are intertwined and that everything has a price. He then vows to try and help built a better world for both pokemon and people together, no longer viewing them as tools or means to an end.
Size/Presence of bag/pack increases size of inventory, and allows camping.
Camping no longer restores party health, but allows the following:
- gives you PC & gadget so you can trade Pokemon between box & team
- can interact with Pokemon:
- you can buy different toys. different kinds of toys for different Pokemon. they gain xp & friendship.
- you can heal status effects on Pokemon in different ways, (poison and burned with first aid kit, frozen with campfire, paralysed with leaves).
- you can hold competitions, on land, sea, or air. winner gets xp.
- UNLOCKABLE ability to take selfies with Pokemon or team. In London, you can buy accessories for these photos, that will increase followers & likes.
- can make basic food at campsite with ingredients. this will provide temporary stat boosts or xp gain
- if not camped or rested in hotel for two nights, character will be unable to run until camped
- UNLOCKABLE ability to meditate with Pokemon.
Decorations for the camp as well as aesthetic changes can be purchased, as well as Pokemon beds, but these take up (limited) storage - upside is they also provide small chance to heal slightly overnight.
At maxed out friendship levels, a Pokemon can follow you out of their poke ball, very small Pokemon ride on you, very big Pokemon can’t come out.
At certain point in story, you get taught how to ride certain Pokemon on land, and others on sea. No special moves or gear required.
Fossils could be revived either at Oxford Uni OR at the National History Museum in London (would be great, but would probably need more functionality to make it a worthwhile location). Maybe conflate all the museums in London into one in front of Trafalgar Square? Also a gallery with a wing dedicated to an exhibit of pictures of the gym challenge. About 40-60% of pictures will already be filled by ‘other competitors’. Adding your own pictures will gain you notoriety on PokeNet & cause people to recognise you & generate random encounter battles.
Wider routes / more hidden spots / clearing.
Pick a forest, call it haunted, and make it change randomly each new area and generate on forever, unless you’re holding a special quest item - make this the home of the Spirit of the Wilds? In similar vein, maybe have hidden caves / cave systems randomly pop up on different days around the UK?
Maybe a tube system in London? Where one tube could allow you to fight your way through the carriages with it getting progressively more difficult? Normal tubes allow fast travel through London where flying pokemon are not allowed to drop you..
Maybe old crypts underneath Oxford or another city that were filled with spookier Pokemon and it helps you discover hidden lore about the history of the different regions’ spirit Pokemon and cooperation with humans.
Water routes to smaller islands around UK? Dungeon caves on the islands.
Dark caves/mines (wookey hole?). Use phone flashlight UNLOCKED app to look around. Maze-like if possible. Find fossils to be revived in caves/mines, (4 region specific ones & possibility to uncover new ones after gaining some standing with Nat History museum).
GET RID OF ALL VERY HUMANOID Pokemon / DUMB NEW Pokemon. (obviously contentious, but seems likely there will be some universally agreed omittables..)
Appropriate Pokemon/people:
- old people: HerdieStoutland (or older gen?)
- builders: Gurdurr
- academics: Yamask, Golett,
- hairdressers: Furfrou, Rufflet, Deino
- restaurants & cafes: Swirlix, Alcremie
- farmers: Pumpkaboo,
- electricians: Chargabug
- pubs: Rockruff
- fruit & veg outdoor market: Bounsweet, Cherrim
PokeNet
Social media app for posting pics. Gain followers and people will occasionally recognise you while you fight your way up the rankings. Post-game, it becomes a way for people to send you challenges, (gym leaders can invite you back for friendly matches, along with any other rando - like ‘trainer phone’ from Emerald).
Able to fly around and encounter unique high flying Pokemon in hot air balloons.
Able to fly to some places in biplane - pretty cloud scene to see this.
Maybe a competitive battle scene in London?
Maybe a battle mode where both trainers use all 6 Pokemon at once would be interesting. Maybe have it so it differentiates between front-liners and rear guard, (e.g. only special / physical attacks depending on position).
An item that can be held when breeding to increase your chance at a specific IV or temperament.
Location Ideas:
- White Cliffs of Dover
- Eden Project
- Oxford Uni
- Stonehenge
- Roman Baths
- Stratford Upon Avon
- London
- Avalon

2020.09.19 12:27 OccultatumCapital Pokemon in the UK Reimagined...

These are by no means final, polished, or that sort of thing, but I wanted to post it and see what other people thought and ask if anyone else had any other ideas to contribute or if they'd change anything themselves.I'm not a game developper - indie or otherwise, and the only experience I have with game-design is loving games most of my life.

(just immigrated, meet rival 1 - local, jerk, laugh at for no Pokemon and give 1 poke ball with taunt you’ll never catch one, says he’ll be champ)
Interest in Pokemon competition after playing in glade with starters (choose which to bond more with while playing) - after barely warding off big Pokemon, touches poke ball in hand with head to be captured. Set off to become best.
This introduces new mechanic - if Pokemon fighting with is friendly enough towards you, (play with, don’t K.O., heal with natural remedies, more bonded Pokemon) then option to ‘bond’ with wild Pokemon appears, making the catch rate 100% after calming, (3-15 turns of potential attacks depending on agitation/aggression and level). Once calmed, it will regard you quizzically. If your currently used Pokemon is bonded to you, it might become insistent / curious to join and try to heal your Pokemon or buff it. Pokemon bonded with have +25% XP gain rate & +10% stats.
Garchomp, Metagross, Aggron, Armaldo, Tyrantrum, Tyranitar. The Champion is able to mega-evolve two Pokemon, through the use of an item that they will give you one of should you defeat them. It will only function if every Pokemon on your team has a high friendship level with the player.
When you have defeated the Champion, as they are about to name you their successor, jerk rival 1 will burst into the room, having beaten the Elite Four and demanding to face the Champion. Explaining that you now hold the title, your rival will then step up to you and challenge you. Given that the Champion cannot technically refuse a fight in this capacity with the Elite Four having been beaten, the previous Champion heals both of your teams so as to make it a fair fight and the two of you will then battle.
NOTES

Meeting Gym Leaders Outside:
Robin birdwatching in Sherwood forrest.
Doe on a bench just hanging out with a big baggy jumper covering most of her body.
William protagonist of an RSC play, being hounded by reporters when leaving. Also random rumours of him having always worked at the theatre..
Purdy doing laps around town. (double amputee, metal legs).
Pritchard & Beckett exchanging notes in a bug exhibit at the National Museum in London.
Overarching Legendary: Spirit of the Wilds, Lefspreca (Fairy, Grass, Flying, Water) controlling the four under-legendaries, (Ireland, Wales, Scotland, England).
In his overzealousness for man’s success and unlimited free energy, he neglected to realise that man and Pokemon are intertwined and that everything has a price. He then vows to try and help built a better world for both Pokemon and people together, no longer viewing them as tools or means to an end.
Post-game, background news in shops, pubs, and such can be heard talking about the Industrialist’s investments into renewable energy and various charitable Pokemon preservation schemes. After set periods of time, the player will notice wind farms and solar panels around the UK, and the player may randomly encounter the Industrialist in the wilds. At one point they will be contacted by the Industrialist to join him at his latest endeavour: he is opening a preservation park where people can go to learn about Pokemon without capturing them. The Pokemon are free to roam and act as they normally would and scientists will explain to groups of visitors & schoolchildren about each Pokemon on guided tours. He has named the park in your honour.
He will also mention another project in the works to build yet another park on an uninhabited island where he would use the newer fossil technology to revive dinosaur Pokemon. He’s thinking of calling it Mesozoic Park.
Size/Presence of bag/pack increases size of inventory, and allows camping.
Camping no longer restores party health, but allows the following:

Roman Baths - ancient proof of Pokemon / people coexisting
Stratford Upon Avon
London
Avalon - hidden by Pokemon to provide refuge
More little quests like delivering the letter and more lore as flavour text.
Sets of variants for each Pokemon. The main version being the most common, and each variant species being less common. See felicomics.tumblr.com & supermoose13’s post.
More incentive to go home now and then! Eating a meal with your mother replenishes health, and provides a flat 10% boost to all capture attempts. Periodic returns will result in her giving you the occasional item gift or camping decoration, and once your mother’s past as an ace physical Pokemon trainer is revealed in DLC 2, you can challenge her to the occasional friendly match and she can improve your team’s physical attack damage in sparring sessions in the local wood, (10% boost).
DLC 1: Unlock rest of Ireland, where something mysterious is afoot.
No gyms, far more story driven. Setting significantly more woodland-based with more ‘haunted’ forests that must be navigated intelligently, with fae references galore.
There is unrest in the Pokemon of Ireland and you have to figure out why.
Maybe a Darkrai at the heart of it all? Slowly spreading darkness across the forests of Ireland as it had been awaken by the collective nightmares of children, which it was now amplifying. As a result, the forests become increasingly dangerous, and at night, the darkness seems to swallow people up - into Darkrai’s realm where it puts them to sleep, amplifying its power.
You must battle your way down towards the source, talking to people who, for the most part, believe it to be mystical forces that need to be appeased somehow. Whenever resting the night at a camp or hotel, you too will be plagued by nightmares:
either an unbeatable fight against your jerk rival, being lost in a dark forest with poisoned Pokemon, etc. In each nightmare, you can spot Darkrai or some part of it before it ends.
You must first drive Darkrai away to its own realm by breaking its control over 6 kids in particular around Ireland. They will be comatose and will need different methods to break Darkrai’s hold over them. One might need their special teddy bear that was lost in the woods which you must retrieve, one might their grandmother who couldn’t make the trip down on her own, one might need their friends around them, one might need their favourite song, etc. Once all six children have been released, the Professor will be able to pinpoint the tear from Darkrai’s realm into our world.
Entering the tear will have the player travel through a dark reflection of the UK where people shout angrily at each other for being different and your own Pokemon’s attacks do 1/2 their usual damage. Before taking on Darkrai, you must first fight your friend rival who is horrible to you and jeers. Upon defeating or capturing Darkrai, you black out.
Waking up, you find yourself surrounded by your friend rival, Professor, mother, and even your jerk rival further off. They celebrate that you’re okay and congratulate you. The professor jokes that your friend rival was actually very worried about you and was the one that ended up finding you in the forrest. Your jerk rival will grumble about how it was only because they needed you strong enough to be a decent rival.
Unlike the Spirit of the Wilds, Darkrai can in fact be captured, although this is incredibly difficult.
DLC 2: Introduces some sort of version of Battle Frontier. Division for physical attack Pokemon and special attack Pokemon. Original founder of the physical category turns out to be your mother!
DLC 3: Exploring the Scottish highlands and the mystery of the powerful ancient Pokemon therein.

So that's about it. Again, sorry it's all a bit muddled. It's just a bit of nonsense I'm enjoying adding to, (so this post will be edited repeatedly over time). Let me know what you think in the comments & I'd love to talk about it and mull ideas over!

2020.09.18 19:13 Snurdle A comprehensive guide to (most) transfers in the Bundesliga

A new Bundesliga season starts today! What a glorious day full of wonder and excitement. Bayern München won the treble last season after only drawing and losing four times each across all competitions. To phrase that differently: they’ve won every single match in the Champions League and never went to a penalty shootout in the DFB-Pokal. Here’s to another exciting Bundesliga season.
But what happened over the short summer break, you wonder? A lot for some clubs, astonishingly few for others. The transfer window may still be open until October, but I still decided to take a look at new arrivals and departures in the German top flight. And by “take a look”, I mean, “hurriedly cobbled together a brief overview today”. Can you spot where I started to lose interest?
Anyway, I hope some of you find this interesting or helpful in some way.

FC Bayern München

New first kit

Transfers out

Most of their outgoing players are loanees returning to their clubs, namely Ivan Perišić, Philippe Coutinho, and Álvaro Odriozola. Perišić came in to bolster the squad and be an experienced option for rotation. He did exactly that, playing quite regularly, accumulating eight goals and ten assists. Coutinho too rarely showed his class and most likely won’t be missed much. Odriozola played a grand total of 179 minutes across all competitions, so you can probably guess how sad everyone at the club is to see him go. One loss is much more important than all of these combined, however. Thiago, the midfield maestro, leaves for a rumoured fee of about €30 million to Liverpool. This departure weighs heavy. It’s tough to ascertain how much this will impact Bayern, but given they don’t want to sign a replacement, it will certainly be interesting to watch how well they’ll cope without him. Corentin Tolisso and Michaël Cuisance could step up and fill that Spanish gap, yet I remain doubtful that Tolisso has that quality or that Cuisance is ready for that.

Transfers in

Tanguy Kouassi is a young French centre-back signed on a free from PSG, who unfortunately missed the pre-season and will return in October. Rumours persist that Lucas Hernández could leave, and Jérôme Boateng ain’t getting younger either. Considering that, barring any further signings on that position, he’ll get his minutes. Adrian Fein returns from his loan to second league side Hamburg, where the young midfielder impressed in the first half of the season, only to drop off in the second half. Can he be the new Thiago? Probably not. Alexander Nübel comes in as a new goalkeeper to put pressure on Manuel Neuer. His contract supposedly ensures him 15 apps this season. If that’s true, we might see more of his trademark blunders that saw him temporarily lose his starting spot at Schalke last season. Last but not least, Leroy Sané. Bayern’s most important signing. An elite winger added to the roster, combining pace and technical skill, he’s sure to put his mark on his second stint in the Bundesliga, much to the detriment of every other German club.

Potential breakout players

Here I’ll highlight one or two players who I believe might have their breakout season, like Alphonso Davies last year (but probably no one I mention will reach that level, let’s be real). Joshua Zirkzee, the young Dutch striker, scored four times in the few matches he played last season. He won’t bench Lewandowski, but I can see him getting more minutes and developing further into a proper rotational player. Other than that, despite my reservations, Cuisance could very well make a huge step and be a more important player for Bayern this season behind the likes of Joshua Kimmich or Leon Goretzka.

Borussia Dortmund

New first kit

Transfers out

Probably their most famous yet completely unsurprising departure is the prodigal son Mario Götze. An overall disappointing second time at Dortmund comes to an anticlimactic close, his future still in the stars. More noteworthy from a sporting perspective is Achraf Hakimi leaving, who has set up camp at Inter where he’ll sprint up and down the right flank. Most Dortmund fans will agree that while he was incredibly important, he’s far from being irreplaceable. His defensive work left a lot to be desired, a weak spot he couldn’t always compensate for with great runs and goal-scoring instinct. Other than that, a couple youngsters left. Centre-back Leonardo Balerdi plays on loan for Marseille, while midfielder Immanuel Pherai will spend next season at Zwolle. Both could have a future in black and yellow, but it’s somewhat doubtful for both. Oh, André Schürrle also ended his career.

Transfers in

Reinier came in on loan from Real Madrid to strengthen the attack and provide much needed depth. Whether he’ll amount to more remains to be seen, as he was injured/unfit for most of the pre-season. Thomas Meunier was signed from PSG to offset Hakimi’s departure (along with Mateu Morey). The experienced right-back will likely be a starter and should help the youngsters in the team. Speaking of which, Dortmund also signed 17-year-old Jude Bellingham. Some wondered whether he’d be good enough to be an immediate help. His performance against Duisburg in the DFB-Pokal last Monday served as a first glimpse of his massive talent. He might not be an undisputed starter for all of the season, but he’ll be an important player nonetheless.

Potential breakout players

Bellingham, unsurprisingly. Other than that, Dortmund’s got another treat for the American fans: Gio Reyna should play regularly and continue his good showings of last season.

RB Leipzig

New first kit

Transfers out

A giant, Timo Werner-shaped hole yawns in Leipzig’s offense after his transfer to Chelsea. In 45 matches in the 19/20 season, he scored 34 goals and assisted 13 more. Impeccable numbers that are almost impossible to compensate for. Another significant loss is Patrik Schick, who was loaned from Roma. Not quite as proficient as Werner, he nevertheless scored 10 goals in the league. The Austrian midfielder Hannes Wolf missed significant parts of last season due to injury, after his return only playing for 53 minutes in five matches. Shouldn’t be too difficult to compensate for this loss. The same can be said about centre-back Ethan Ampadu, who returns to Chelsea after only having played a combined total of 277 minutes. Second goalkeeper Yvon Mvogo went to PSV on loan.

Transfers in

Filling Werner’s shoes is a daunting task, one that Leipzig hope Hwang Hee-Chan will accomplish. In a rare, unprecedented event no one could have seen coming, he came in from RB Salzburg for the huge sum of €9 million. He’ll score a couple goals and, being just 24 years old, could develop into a very fine player, but overall a downgrade in quality and depth (given he technically replaces both Werner and Schick). Spanish goalkeeper Josep Martínez, who I’ve never heard of before, replaces Mvogo. Benjamin Henrichs comes in from Monaco to provide depth on the right side. He knows the Bundesliga from his time at Leverkusen, thus he shouldn’t have too much trouble acclimating. Arguably the most interesting signing is Lazar Samardžić from Hertha BSC. The 18-year-old offensive midfielder is regarded as a huge talent, many big clubs were said to be interested in him. This move could have come too early for him, although training under Julian Nagelsmann shouldn’t be to his detriment.

Potential breakout players

After his somewhat disappointing debut season for Leipzig, Dani Olmo will be a mainstay for Leipzig and finally prove himself in a big league. The latter holds true for Hwang Hee-chan, who scored plenty of goals in Austria already.

Borussia Mönchengladbach

New first kit

Transfers out

This transfer window was rather uneventful for Gladbach. Both Raffael and Fabian Johnson have run out their contracts and are now free agents. The former will be dearly missed, if mostly just because of sentimental values and less so for his performances last season. 30-year-old midfielder Tobias Strobl, while always reliable, shouldn’t be difficult to replace either after his transfer to Augsburg.

Transfers in

Also very restrained, something we’ll be seeing more of now with the other clubs still to come. Hannes Wolf, mentioned just above, should improve Gladbach’s midfield as a regular starter. Valentino Lazaro joins on loan from Inter. Planned to be a starter as well, he is out injured for at least another month or two. Another one for the Americans: Joseph Scally, a young right-back, could play for a few minutes here and there until Lazaro’s return.

Potential breakout players

Hannes Wolf should finally be able to demonstrate his class.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen

New first kit

Transfers out

On the one hand, merely two important players left Leverkusen this summer. However, these two players are none other than Kevin Volland and Kai Havertz. Volland was, is and never will be a world class player, but he could always be relied upon to score and assist a decent amount. I don’t need to tell you about Havertz, just ask a Chelsea fan.

Transfers in

Well, this one’s gonna be quick. Patrik Schick, after his loan at Leipzig ended, decided to come back to Germany and play for Leverkusen. He should comfortably fill in for Volland. That’s it for now, but Peter Bosz already said they’d like to sign more players, especially to compensate for Havertz leaving.

Potential breakout players

Florian Wirtz will be among the hottest young prospects in Germany and potentially Europe this season. The young winger played a decent amount already last season, where he showed his talent, and it’s likely he’ll make the next step now. Exequiel Palacios, an Argentinian midfielder, couldn’t establish himself last season, but I can see him become an important part of the squad.

TSG Hoffenheim

New first kit

Transfers out

Nothing too interesting, to be honest. Leonardo Bittencourt moves permanently to Werder Bremen after his loan, Steven Zuber goes to Eintracht Frankfurt after a disappointing season, and Gregor Kobel stays with VfB Stuttgart after his loan there.

Transfers in

A quick glance at their squad on Transfermarkt reveals that five of their defenders are injured, among them Konstantinos Stafylidis, their only trained left-back after Zuber left. You’d think they’d have signed someone else for that position, but nope, apparently not. Pavel Kaderabek played as left wing-back in the Pokal, but he’s also injured now. The only player they’ve signed thus far for the first team is Mijat Gaćinović from Frankfurt, a decently talented offensive midfielder who can’t score for the life of him, except against Bayern in a DFB-Pokal final.

Potential breakout players

Christoph Baumgartner, same as last season. While he was good, he wasn’t quite at the point of garnering as much (international) attention as he is capable of.

VfL Wolfsburg

New first kit

Transfers out

With Felix Udokhai, Marcel Tisserand, and Felix Knoche, three centre-backs left Wolfsburg.

Transfers in

To compensate for that, they’ve signed 20-year-old French Maxence Lacroix, who already scored a goal in their Europa League qualifier. As a backup for Wout Weghorst and Daniel Ginczek, they’ve also signed the 18-year-old Polish striker Bartosz Białek. For €5 million, they’re obviously certain of his abilities and talent.

Potential breakout players

Well, I don’t really see anyone else besides these two signings to potentially have a breakout season, so yeah, I suppose it’s them.

SC Freiburg

New first kit

Transfers out

Striker Luca Waldschmidt (now at Benfica) and centre-back Robin Koch (now at Leeds) will be difficult to replace for Freiburg. Regular goalkeeper Alexander Schwolow left for Hertha BSC, talented centre-back Nico Schlotterbeck will play for Union Berlin, and the experienced Mike Frantz also left. Quite a bloodletting, but all things considered, it’s to be expected for Freiburg.

Transfers in

A striker by the name of Ermedin Demirović arrived, who scored a respectable 14 goals for St. Gallen last season. As a reaction to designated first keeper Mark Flekken’s injury, Freiburg loaned Florian Müller from Mainz. Offensive midfielder Guus Til comes in from Spartak Moscow. And with defensive midfielder Baptiste Santamaria, Freiburg has a new record signing, with a fee of €10 million.

Potential breakout players

Freiburg produces new top talents practically every season. This year, it could be Woo-yeong Jeong, but if recent history has taught us anything, it’ll probably be someone no one’s heard of before.

Eintracht Frankfurt

New first kit

Transfers out

A lot of experience left Frankfurt in the form of Marco Russ, Jonathan de Guzmán, and Gelson Fernandes. As previously mentioned, Gaćinović was sold to Hoffenheim, who will be remembered as never having fulfilled what many fans hoped he one day would. Gonçalo Paciência was surprisingly loaned to Schalke.

Transfers in

Ragnar Ache, a young striker, could potentially fill Paciência’s gap. Zuber comes in from Hoffenheim and André Silva is bought after his loan. Aside from that, it’s mainly loanees returning, like Jetro Willems or Aymen Barkok. It’s quite likely we’ll see some of them leave again.

Potential breakout players

If Daichi Kamada manages to score and assist more (consistently), he could prove to be very important for Frankfurt.

Hertha BSC

New first kit

Transfers out

Vedad Ibišević left for Schalke, Per Ciljan Skjelbred is back in Norway, Salomon Kalou is also gone, Ondrej Duda now plays for Köln, and the aforementioned Samardžić who is now at Leipzig. The end of Marko Grujic’s loan will prove to be more severe, I reckon.

Transfers in

Alexander Schwolow from Freiburg, who made a poor first impression during Big City Club™ Hertha Berlin’s DFB-Pokal loss to promoted second division side Eintracht Braunschweig. Deyovaisio Zeefuik (you can bet your butt I copy-pasted that) comes in from Groningen. Since Berlin sold Duda to Köln, they thought they might as well get Jhon Córdoba from them. A good striker, if he keeps up his recent form.

Potential breakout players

Javairô Dilrosun, because it’s about time for him.

Union Berlin

New first kit

Transfers out

A lot of players left Union, but most of them aren’t too noteworthy. Striker Sebastian Andersson, now with Köln, is a heavy loss, as could be goalkeeper Rafal Gikiewicz, who was basically swapped with Augsburg’s Andreas Luthe.

Transfers in

Max Kruse comes back from Turkey to play for Union Berlin of all clubs. Not many people would’ve seen that coming a year ago, I assume. Felix Knoche from Wolfsburg and Niko Gießelmann from Düsseldorf should immediately strengthen the squad, and Schalke’s Cedric Teuchert can prove he’s good enough for the Bundesliga.

Potential breakout players

Max Kruse, obviously.

FC Schalke 04

New first kit

Transfers out

Juan Miranda and Jean-Clair Todibo leave Schalke besides Cedric Teuchert, and none of them need a direct replacement due to their negligible importance in the squad. Alexander Nübel leaves for Bayern, Daniel Caligiuri goes to Augsburg, and Weston McKenny will play for Juventus for whatever reason. Jonjoe Kenny also returns to Everton.

Transfers in

Several loanees return, like Steven Skrzybski, Mark Uth, Ralf Fährmann, Sebastian Rudy, and Nabil Bentaleb. Apart from Skrzybski, these are players with ambitions to be regular starters and at least a modicum of quality, even if most of them couldn’t demonstrate it in the royal blue kits. Otherwise, Vedad Ibišević adds… something to the squad, and Gonçalo Paciência could be a decent striker this season.

Potential breakout players

Can Bozdogan was one of the few bright spots of Schalke’s terrible last season. If he builds on that and David Wagner trusts him, he should develop nicely.

FSV Mainz 05

New first kit

Transfers out

Mainz, for once, don’t appear to have lost any vital players. Most important of the outgoing players is probably centre-back Jeffrey Bruma, now back at Wolfsburg after his loan. Goalkeeper Florian Müller left for Freiburg.

Transfers in

No big departures means no significant incoming transfers. Mainz signed centre-back Luca Kilian from relegated SC Paderborn.

Potential breakout players

17-year-old Paul Nebel was subbed in during Mainz’ DFB-Pokal victory, where he assisted a goal. Perhaps it’s a sign of things to come.

FC Köln

New first kit

Transfers out

Jhon Córdoba, the legendary Simon Terodde, and Mark Uth ー three strikers. No one of particular importance apart from that.

Transfers in

Coming in from Union Berlin, Sebastian Andersson is supposed to compensate for those three strikers leaving. Köln also brought in goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler as a backup and to put pressure on Timo Horn. Offensive midfielder Ondrej Duda also joins from Hertha BSC.

Potential breakout players

Left-back Noah Katterbach is in a similar position as Hoffenheim’s Baumgartner. Very promising previous season, but will show even more this year,

FC Augsburg

New first kit

Transfers out

Augsburg legend Daniel Baier left after his contract wasn’t renewed, as has Andreas Luthe. Striker Sergio Córdova will gather valuable playing time on loan at Arminia Bielefeld, similar to centre-back Kevin Danso at Düsseldorf. As has correctly been pointed out, I forgot about Philipp Max leaving Augsburg. The left-back joined PSV for €8 million, a steal even in these times. He's been an integral part of Augsburg's squad for the past years, staying longer than most would have thought.

Transfers in

Centre-back Felix Udokhai is signed permanently after his loan, Rafał Gikiewicz is the new regular goalkeeper, and Daniel Caligiuri will show his Schalke magic on the wings. Tobias Strobl will also add experience to the midfield.

Potential breakout players

I think Ruben Vargas could prove that he’s destined for greater things than playing for Augsburg, with all due respect.

Werder Bremen

New first kit

Transfers out

Nuri Sahin, Fin Bartels, Claudio Pizarro, Sebastian Langkamp, Philipp Bargfrede ㅡ a combined age of 168 years, or an average of 33.6 years. Centre-back Kevin Vogt also left, a greenhorn in comparison with his 28 years of age.

Transfers in

Leonardo Bittencourt stays permanently after his loan, as does Ömer Toprak. Left-back Felix Agu arrives from VfL Osnabrück on a free, same with Patrick Erras from Nürnberg. Bremen also loaned Tahith Chong from Manchester United, showing them how to sign a winger.

Potential breakout players

Probably Tahith Chong, who’s left a good first impression after scoring a goal against Carl Zeiss Jena in the DFB-Pokal. 18-year-old striker Nick Woltemade could see a lot of playing time, as well.

Arminia Bielefeld

New first kit

Transfers out

The loss of right-back Jonathan Clauss likely concerns many Bielefeld fans. He was an important player and integral to their promotion. Most of the other departures hurt from a sentimental perspective. Honestly, it’s remarkable how they’ve managed to keep their squad together.

Transfers in

Several interesting players. Ritsu Doan, a Japanese right-winger on loan from PSV, centre-back Mike van der Hoorn from Swansea City, and striker Sergio Córdova from Augsburg ㅡ all of them on loan. Add to that someone like Austrian winger Christian Gebauer, and you’ve got yourself a promising squad.

Potential breakout players

Centre-back Amos Pieper had a great last season in the second league, and hopes in Bielefeld are high that he continues where he left off. And finally, after all this time, Fabian Klos arrives in the Bundesliga to tear it apart. Dread it, run from, the Klos still arrives.

VfB Stuttgart

New first kit

Transfers out

Anastasios Donis and Chadrac Akolo, two attackers, left for French clubs. Just like right-back Pablo Maffeo, who now plays in Spain, they only ever showed glimpses of what they’re capable of. Sadly, we also have to bid farewell to the one and only Mario Gómez. Press the button to pay your respects.

Transfers in

Centre-back Konstantinos Mavropanos arrives on loan from Arsenal, but faces tough competition from the other new centre-back Waldemar Anton. Wataru Endo bolsters the defensive midfield, goalkeeper Gregor Kobel stays after his loan.

Potential breakout players

What I’ve seen of Silas Wamangituka has been quite impressive, and I assume he’ll play at least an alright first season in the top flight.

2020.09.16 19:00 inommmz Control

Waited on this until Steam had a discount very recently. Heard lots of great things, never watched or read a review.
I’ve been having a lot of trouble staying interested in single player games, even great ones like AC Odyssey, Doom/Eternal, RDR2, Witcher 3, etc. all due to my work schedule (usually 12 hour shifts), and spend most of my time on games like Escape from Tarkov or CoD MW lately because my group of friends are usually down for those late night (obligatory Among Us plug as well).
But hot damn, Control is awesome. I love the acting for both voice, and the multimedia used to create a sense of realism and bit of uneasiness with the game. The atmosphere, the music/ambience is all on point. Power progression and level designing makes it really feel like I am Jesse Faden running around a familiar yet unknown bureau of supernataural government bureaucracy.
I’ve been able to play a bit daily, especially thanks to the iPad Steam Link app and my trusty Xbox One S controller (can not wait for the Elite 2 controller support update!!) so I can play on the couch while my girl is watching tv, or even take a relaxing bath.
Seriously, if you haven’t started it yet, please do. It reminds me Bioshock and Dishonored and other great single player games. Here’s to hoping I can commit to the end game for once.

2020.09.16 18:56 OccultatumCapital Pokemon in the UK Reimagined...

- gives you PC & gadget so you can trade Pokemon between box & team
- can interact with Pokemon:
- you can buy different toys. different kinds of toys for different Pokemon. they gain XP & friendship
- you can heal status effects on Pokemon in different ways, (poison and burned with first aid kit, frozen with campfire, paralysed with leaves)
- you can hold competitions, on land, sea, or air. winner gets XP
- UNLOCKABLE ability to take selfies with Pokemon or team. In London, you can buy accessories for these photos, that will increase followers & likes

It's just a bit of nonsense I'm enjoying adding to. Let me know what you think in the comments & I'd love to talk about it and mull ideas over!

2020.09.16 18:55 OccultatumCapital Pokemon in the UK Reimagined...
